Still Falling Down

In April 2015 the Loss Assessors published an image of a large area of tiling that had fallen from Bernard Cohen House. Fortunately nobody was killed or injured. We now commemorate the first anniversary of this event by noting that the Corporation of London have to date failed to repair the walls.

After inspecting, they have covered it with plastic sheeting as weather protection. The Loss Assessors and residents of the building are unimpressed to hear that this is yet another case of the City of London – the most wealthy local authority in Europe – bungling their project management of the Golden Lane Estate. There is still no published a date for a repair of the two end walls of this Grade II listed building.
